Expected availability of Ubuntu 24 build

Thank you for the response. Communication is much better than operating in a vacuum.

Hi Kent,

any chance to get the IMX519 driver in there as well? Everything to get the camera working (on the list as supported) is simply failing on the old image.

I tried to get it into the old Kernel but due to lack of documentation, linux sources, etc. I have not had any luck there.

With that driver we would cover at least a load of users here in the community who are trying to do something with the Arducam.

Thank you

Hi Steffen.

We are currently testing and verifying patches for the IMX519 driver for 20.04. I don't know yet whether it will make it into the initial 24.04 release. If not, we will definitely be working on getting it included as soon as we can.

Thank you for the update. Please be shure to make it broadly known as soon as this driver is somewhere availably, As I and many others are currently parking our Tachyon until the camera works as currently (even though you listed it as compatible) it is completely useless (at least for me).

Yes exactly, I can’t believe a company as established as Particle can directly specify a device that is just not usable. They know the issue and yet the camera is still recommended in the docs!!!

Great they are working the issue but geez…

As you may understand I’m a bit frustrated as my Tachyon is just another unused device in the corner even though we all waited patiently for the delays. For me, if they make you wait, they need to deliver and not with out dated O/S!
