Esim not working after installation

Hello,

I just installed an eSIM from roamify, but it is not connecting.

It just forever shows the following in the logs:

Dec 30 08:01:27 tachyon-f3f1a661 particle-tachyon-rild[865143]: Command: AT+CEREG?, Response:
Dec 30 08:01:27 tachyon-f3f1a661 particle-tachyon-rild[865143]: +CEREG: 2,0

Dec 30 08:01:32 tachyon-f3f1a661 particle-tachyon-rild[865143]: OK

I did turn the moden off and on, tried disconnect/connect, tried to set the APN manually.

Ubuntu RoW/ 20.04

Any other ideas?

Here are the things I would check:

Is the correct profile enabled for the area? +CEREG: 2,0 suggests that the SIM might not be ready or active.

What are the early logs saying for particle-tachyon-rild?

It might be worth it to run the particle-cell-qxdm log capture. It will generate a large 150MB zip file.

Also note that the APN is case-sensitive.

yes, correct profile is active. output as folows:

Hi,

It looks like your custom APN was loaded ok "plus", but the network is rejecting the device "+CEREG: 2,3". Can you check with roamify if the ICCID is activated?

Hi,

I can only check data usage and that the ICCID seems to be ok (zero data used). Also I tried another of their esims in my pixel phone and it worked without issues.

So not quite clear what the issue is. I tried 2 esims from roamify in 2 different countries: Bulgaria and Turkiye. Also I tried another esim from a different provider in Turkiye which kinda worked (very slow ping times), but connected.

I’ll do another attempt in Georgia with a local esim and report back.

Btw: I did see some SIM card errors, but couldn’t reproduce them, so there might be some incompatibility with their esim profiles.
