Electron Vin vs Battery connection

Just to make sure.

If I attach the positive lead of a lipo battery to the Vin pin and the neg to a gnd is that the same thing as plugging the battery into the battery connector. For both powering the board and charging with the USB?

It will power the electron but not recharge the battery when a USB is plugged in. You should use the battery connector.

If you need to solder the LiPo, you can use the Li+ solder point right next to the Vin pin.

Hi
I wold like to power my Electron with a PV panel. The voltage can go as high as 18.5 volts. Can this harm the device.

I suggest you search the four for solar electron there are many threads with great information
