Digital/analogue pin to run a 3.3v fan

Hi guys
Newbie question but my project requires a very small fan (MakerHawk) to be run for between 2 and 4 seconds before a sensor reading is taken. Is it possible using one of the digital or analogue pins?

Not a good idea because the digital pins are not designed to source sufficient current to run the fan motor. Refer to the datasheet for the Xenon. The way to do it is use a digital pin to switch a mosFET or transistor which is specified to handle the current and voltage of your fan motor. You can google some circuits.

Thanks for that. I hadnt thought of the mosFET’s and i have a couple, so will have a google.
