Connect ESP32 to Particle Cloud?

Is there a way to connect ESP32 to Particle Cloud the same way I can connect a normal Particle board?

I would like to use the same sort of functions and code I used before on Particle boards but on an ESP32 board. We need to connect to Google Cloud pub/sub, and I'd like to use Particle Cloud as a broker.

I'm using Platformio with Arduino framework if it makes a difference. Would be great if I can just install a library and use the same particle publish functions as before.
