Can I plug USB and Vin the same time to power the Photon? [Solved]

Yes, that is possible. There is a protection diode preventing Vin to feed back to USB and you should maybe add one to prevent USB power to go into your supply if that might deliver less than 4.8V.

Any diode can be used for this?

For example I have a 1N4001, I know there is one side thar conduct and the othe no, and I’ll have less 0.7 from my power supply because the diode.

I’d go for a Schottky diode that only had 0.2V forward drop-
