Bluetooth radio range

Hi,

We want to use Particle xenons to communicate with each other within large buildings. Does anyone know what sort of range can be expected ? If a floor slab or wall was between them, what is the chance they can penetrate ?

Should we expect similar range/penetration as a wifi signal ?

@grillo, a forum search would have revealed:

The Mesh devices don't use Bluetooth for meshing, they use 6LowPan on 802.15.4 which operates at 2.4GHz. So yes, penetration will be similar to WiFi though the TX power will be much less than a typical router.

This is where mesh topology design is important. The mix of gateways, repeaters and "sleepy" nodes will dictate your coverage.
