Best particle cellular board option for remote data collection project

Hi,
We have a remote logging application that collects a large amount of data (images/text - 5MB/day) and uploads this data to an FTP server on an hourly basis.

Which particle cellular capable board would be most appropriate for this application:
Particle Boron LTE, Particle Boron 2g/3g or Particle Electron 2g/3g or is there perhaps another board that would work better.

Also is the Particle Boron 2g/3g or Particle Electron 2g/3g available as a singular item, I could only find them as part of a kit.

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi @katesfb, which geographic region is this being implemented?

Hi particle7888, and thanks for the reply. We are in new Zealand which does have LTE coverage via spark. We have been using the arduino MKR 1400 GSM board to do the remote data collection which works well but the particle board looks like it is more powerful and has a few extra options that might make it a better option.

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers.

The boron is part of our latest generation 3. I will recommend that.

Hey there,

It is not available as a singular item, because GSM modems (2G/3G) require the additional bulk capacitance provided by the Li-Po battery to function properly, so we do not sell it without the battery like we do with the LTE M1 modem.

Hope that answers your question!
