Battery not charging, device just turns off

I’ve had my Tachyon just turn off on my while I was installing some software. The device went from the pulsing blue to the red light. I believe it has turned off several times, but this was the first time I was personally using it.

It also seems that the battery isn’t charging. There is a red led lit up by where the battery plugs in, but I can see it is pulling < 1 watt.

I’m still not sure why the battery isn’t charging, but I installed the desktop version, it may just be the desktop environment putting it to sleep.

The desktop version does default to sleep mode enabled when idle. The headless build defaults to staying awake always.
