Android Spark Branded WiFi Setup

I’m building a Photon-based product, and I’m using the Android and iOS apps from GitHub as a starting point for customizing a branded WiFi setup experience.

I’m doing the Android one now, based off an example here: https://github.com/spark/spark-setup-android

When pressing “setup”, it forces the user to login to Particle. Is there any way to skip all this, so the app can simply find the nearest Photon, and connect it to in order to pass along the WiFi credentials?
