I love to use Particle Dev and I love all the features it provides but the one thing I don’t like about it is that it requires you to have an internet connection to use it. Will I ever be able to use Particle Dev without an internet connection?
What you’re asking for is “can I compile locally?”, to which the answer is “yes, you can”. If you do a quick search, you’ll find numerous topics about just that. There’s even a complete toolchain installer available for windows that will install and configure pretty much everything you need to get started. Search for “toolchain”

Yay! Thanks Moors7 but I just was looking over the particle docs and I had seen this Particle
Particle Dev is a desktop application that allows you to work with local copies of your firmware files. However, internet access is required as the files are pushed to the Particle Cloud for compilation and returns a binary. i.e. This is not an offline development tool, yet.
