VIN Pin on the Core

Hi,
I am wondering whether I can power the core using only the VIN pin (no USB). So I connected Arduino 3.3V to the VIN pin but the core doesn’t power up.

Any suggestion?

If you look at the hardware DOCS (http://docs.spark.io/hardware/) you have to supply the VIN pin with 3.6 to 6V. The VIN pin is connected to an voltage regulator which regulates the voltage to 3.3V. If you want to power it directly with 3.3V you need to connect it to the 3.3V pin.
