UDP mode on the photon like electron

Can the photon system firmware be put into UDP mode and be very similar to the electron (Less the Cellular stuff), specifically so that we can develop for the electron but on the photon without using up vast amounts of cellular bandwidth, and then switch over to the electron when ready to go to production?

If not, would it be hard to port the electron firmware to achieve this, or is there plans for this?

I remember asking this and the issue is the system firmware size exceeds that is designed for on the Photon.

It’s not that hard, with all the firmware available. More like flipping some software switches here and there to get the UDP mode enabled for the Photon and getting a correct public/private keys flashed using CLI.
