Spark not accepting new firmware

You are somewhat correct—in the settings drawer of the :spark: build IDE, you’ll see a line like “You are building with Spark firmware v0.2.2”, which you can click to expand:

This means—every time you flash via the cloud, you are using the latest release, but there are likely further commits in the repo that aren’t yet merged / released.

Ok so I was able to flash my spark cores today. not sure if it would of caused my problems yesterday but Im not sure if its could of been caused by high international latency that I was experiencing (From South Africa).

Thanks everyone for their help and input

Hi Devin,

How severe of latency are we talking about? I’ve been thinking about a non-latency bound OTA flash, but if you sent me some numbers it would help me understand your experience in the meantime.

Thanks!
David

@Dave tell me what tests you want me to run and Ill give you the feedback

Heya @Devin,

Could you run a Speed test / ping test ( http://www.speedtest.net/ / http://www.pingtest.net/ ), and pick a server off the east coast of the US, and report the results? Would you be willing to send me your external IP address as well? (Please feel free to private message me if you’re more comfortable with that - http://www.whatismyip.com/ ).

Thanks!
David

Hey @Devin,

What was your power source?

I was using a LiPo battery (that was starting to run low) when i was having these problems.

I’m not saying this was the cause, but just trying to see if you were doing the same.

I was running it from a USB port and tried a 1 amp USB plug.

It seemed to be a latency issue.
