A word of advise to people trying to ship Particle devices to Egypt. The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has banned the entry of such devices into Egypt through the normal channels due to security concerns. If ordered it’ll be held in the airport pending NTRA’s approval (which will be rejected) and then either shipped out of the country or destroyed by the customs.
Based on my conversation with the NTRA engineers this ban is also extended to any wifi enabled chip so I guess the photon is banned, this ban also includes xBee devices and any similar devices that uses radio/LEB.
This is the result of my own experience trying to bring in a single electron device and having to spend 2 working days chasing red tape.
