Photon "mega" version?

Hey,

Arduino has a Mega version with lots of GPIO pins. I’m just throwing that away, but is that same concept in development for the Photon? I’m working on a project which requires more pins than what is offered by the Photon, so I added a Arduino Uno, and have them both communicate. Nonetheless, it would be much easier if the Photon had a Mega model. Thoughts?

There are many different kinds of multiplexers and pin expanders that can add more pins to your circuit/project with having to go the extent of adding another microcontroller.
