Photon 2 hibernate RTC and GPIO battery calculations? and battery hookup

The Photon 2 has hibernate with RTC and GPIO wake.

How can I calculate the battery usage at 1 publish per day?

I'm using two AA style 3000mah non-rechargeable lithium batteries.

I'm thinking of putting the two AAs in series, but will the photon 2 work at 3v?

And do I wire the AAs + in on the vusb pin?
