We also noticed that the 4.9.3 version of the arm-none-eabi-gcc compiler has a size optimizing regression, which causes the compiler to not optimize in the same way as it did before. Here are some bugs on the compiler bug tracker that people have reported as fixed in the 5.0 (unstable) version ( Here , and here ).

We've just reverted the cloud compiler used by the Web IDE, CLI, and IDE to 4.8.4 20140526 to make this issue go away. For Core users running into memory limitations, this should set things straight again.
