It was possible to detect USB power in the BSOM via a memory dereference as shown here:USB Connection Detection - #6 by rickkas7
Is a similar thing possible with the MSOM?
It is not possible, because the USB block is always on on the RTL872x and the VUSB line on the M.2 SoM connector isn't connected to the RTL872x MCU on the M-SoM.
If you have a PMIC on your board, that might be an option.
