I have recently bought discovery board (STM32F746-DISCO) but am not being able to debug using eclipse. I quite new doing this I would be grateful is someone could give me a detailed answer.

This is forum for Particle products, which use slightly different ST-Micro ARM processors, so you might try an ST-Micro forum instead.
That said, folks have had good luck with this setup on the Particle processors.
