Gently Disconnecting Lipo from Boron404X

I'm new to Particle boards and am working on a project which requires the Boron 404X to be powered by a 3.7V Lipo. I'm having trouble disconnecting the lipo battery without breaking its connector - I can't do it with my hands, and I have to squeeze harder than I should have to with pliers. I'm 2 for 3 on breaking lipos when disconnecting them from the Boron. Is there a better way to do this? Am I missing something?

If you look at the plug on the LiPo battery side, you'll find two small ramp-shaped tabs. For batteries I use during development I cut these off with an x-acto knife and then you can slip them on and off with very little force. Those are the locking tabs, but are not necessary for the battery to work.

@patbar ,

I struggle with this as well sometimes even after practicing the approach that @rickkas7 described.

I found these on Tindie and use them all the time:

Hope this helps,

These look great! I'll give them a try for sure, thank you.
