E-series pad connections on back of pcb

Greetings,

I’m laying out a PCB for the e-series and I need to know if I have to connect the pads (58, 59, 60, 61, 62 and 63) on the back of the e-series board?

I need to minimize the height of my circuit so I want to mount the e-series into a cut out of my PCB. This will not allow me to connect the pins on the back of the PCB.

Thank you in advance,
Frank

Let me ping someone that might be able to help, @rickkas7 or @blave are you able to assist?

Let me find out and I’ll post back here.

Dave

You can get away with leaving those pads disconnected. The module will still function. The additional GND pads underneath the module are provided for better EMI performance.
