Is there any way to retrieve serial number just like System.deviceID();

Not that I am aware of. You would need to make a Cloud API call to get device information. For that you need the device ID and the access key and then parse the returned JSON.

@armor is correct, though there is a bit of a workaround available on Gen3 devices, though it requires a modification of Device OS. Otherwise, generally speaking, the answer is no.
@proz_174 - you’ll note the full details in my answer to your support ticket. If anyone is curious about the modifications necessary, it involves:
DYNALIB_FN(8, hal_ble, hal_ble_gap_set_device_name, int(const char*, size_t, void*))
DYNALIB_FN(9, hal_ble, hal_ble_gap_get_device_name, int(char*, size_t, void*))
In hal > inc > hal_dynalib_ble.h (and therefore HAL_PLATFORM_BLE must be 1 in hal_platform.h.)
