If you feel comfortable desoldering the existing pins in order to replace them, then yes, that's possible.

The proposal to have headerless devices with pins to solder as the user sees fit is a long standing one

With the Photon users had the option to decide whether you want one with or without presoldered headers. Unfortunately this is not an option for Mesh devices although there is a plethora of 3rd party FeatherWings that could be stacked ontop of these devices like this But with the currently only available option you’d have to either use a FeatherWing Doubler or end up having the display underneath the controller obstructing the display (not clever tho’ ) There obviously is no …

You can also leave some feedback in the linked comment thread - more reasons and use-cases where and why a FeatherWing doubler wouldn't be first choice are always welcome.

Another argument (actually two) for unsoldered headers would be the option to use short headers for size critical projects (short female and short male) or to use stacking headers.
