I wanted to use a Boron and connect a accelerometer for some testing I wanted to do.
Can I connect the accelerometer directly to the 3.3V regulated power? Is this supply also filtered or do I need to add filtering such as (0.1 µF ceramic capacitor) ?
If yes where should I add this capacitor?
Thanks for your help
Yes, you can use 3V3 as a power output for external sensors and such. It's limited both by the regulator as well as the input power supply, but 50 mA should be safe in most cases, and it could be much higher than that.
Most sensor breakout boards already have a 0.1 uF decoupling capacitor if one is needed. If you are designing your own board, check the sensor datasheet to see if one is necessary next to the sensor chip, and if not, you don't need to add one.
