Adafruit EYESPI Pi HAT - I2C, SPI, buttons, slider and Qwiic

Hi,

Here’s something for those who want to add a nice little HAT their Tachyon.

I’ve been using the Adafruit EYESPI Pi HAT (here) and their EYESPI breakouts (and here) with IoT boards & Raspberry Pi for quite sometime.

The 40-pin HAT from Adafruit supports:

  • QWiic connector
  • EYESPI 18-pin FPC connector
Very handy, no more cumbersome Dupont cables for connecting SPI displays with onboard EYESPI connector (from Adafruit and DFRobot - ST7789 or ILI9341).
  • slider switch
  • 2 buttons

You can make your own display HAT with an onboard EYESPI connector. Just pickup an inexpensive ST7789 / ILI9341 LCD, glue it onto the LCD an EYESPI connector breakout & wire it up. Pretty straight forward!

Here’s a Waveshare 2.4” IL9341 with an EYESPI breakout that I wired up sometime ago.

That’s pretty cool!

A neat little RPi Hat. In particular, the EYESPI connector is elegant. It gets rid of the Dupont wires.
