A/B Updates for non-headless / Desktop deployments

I am just wondering what the story is (or is planned to be) for updating the Tachyon that needs a graphical interface. The docs currently state that A/B deployments are only supported in a headless mode.

Is this a hard limitation? Or just not implemented yet? Is it a file size limit? Or, should one augment the headless build to add the minimal support for GUI/GPU acceleration for a kiosk-like application? (I am guessing this may be the path?)

For remotely deployed devices or consumer products, A/B type updates are certainly the ideal option versus package updates, etc.

Ideally one that can preserve user data on the device itself.

Thoughts
