@u2pride, SparkFun has just pushed a new version of their library to their GitHub repo, but not yet to Web IDE.
Can you give it a try?

Unfortunately the corrections only apply to the SPI demo, but maybe if the I2C pins have issues @u2pride might like to give SPI a shot.
@ScruffR, all they did was fix the default CS for SPI. However, I do agree that if I2C is a problem, then the OP could try SPI instead. From the OP’s pictures, I can’t see anything wrong with the board. His problems may be power supply related or some other factor not discussed like protoboard problems if he is using one. 
@ScruffR @peekay123 thanks for the heads up. I’ve unfortunately moved on to using an arduino and adafruit sensors.
