@dfarny, thanks for sharing the images of the PCB. One question about surface mounting the photon - how do you initially program your device? The micro USB looks to be too close to the PCB to get a normal micro USB plug in. Or do you flash them before mounting?
BTW your digital clocks with the valve digits in the background look very retro cool.
It is possible to connect a cable to the USB connector when the Photon is surface mounted. It is a bit tight and you need to have space around the connector, but it works very well.
