I am not able to handle this "git clone git@github.com:spark/firmware" commands for download.
Isn't it possible to get a easy http:// download link for that stuff?
Ok, but now i got it. Was not the smart way but anyway. For luck i have install Ubuntu 14.04 some days ago, my first Ubuntu experience. You also have to install some stuff on Ubuntu and generate a ssh key and create a Github account but anyway it was much easier as on my win xp machine. After i downloaded the stuff via your commands above here, i put it in a zip file, drop it on my google drive account, extract it on my win xp, and use the described dfu-util command (for sure i have spark core on usb and in DFU Mode)
And now my Spark Core work also with the WAKEUP function.
Dear people from particle.io this was a big odyssey, not funny, i was annoyed more then one time.
I feel like, i bought a vodka and have to go by feet to Alaska to get ice for a cold drink.
First question - are you definetly working with a Spark Core and not with a Particle Photon?
I just wonder since you only joined up a few hours ago but the Cores were sold out quite a while back.
BTW: There is a nice and easy way to download a GitHub repo without git installed - and this will always be up to date (unlike any prefabricated zip files ;-))
Hi ScruffR, nice to meet you right now after read much of your stuff the last 24h.
And yes, believe me it is a Spark Core. When somebody like me is able to get it work/fixed without ask one question in forum then he know for sure what kind of hardware he use.
But your question is understandable by the points that u described
The Spark Core is my second one, i bought another one some months ago and fall in the first trap with the wakeup behaviour. I was able to handle it but i couldn't remember how. By work with the first Spark Core i crash the chip, my fault.
But my project was already finished and worked. I build a Letterbox Alarm. Spark Core sleep, postman open Letterbox, Spark Core wakeup, connect to INet and send message as email and fall again to sleep. Had worked fine. But what i say i crash the chip in the end, short-circuit, don´t ask me how
Anyway last days i bought a new Spark Core by a German online dealer and got the same Version 1.0 Spark Core that i had before. I didn't realised it till the moment i flash the the Core with the working source code from before and see the wakeup function don´t work any more. And again, the old Odyssey starts again. (I read your stuff also at this time )
Good to hear that there actually are people who can use the Particle devices without any assistance for such a long time
We usually only get to deal with users who have problems, but your experience shows that it’s not entirely the devices “fault”
I’ll have a look at your code, but on first glance it looks quite decent
As also explained in my PM, I honestly didn’t intend to imply that you were an idiot (as you wrote above).
If I came across this way, I’m sorry. I thought my commending post about you not needing any assistance at all for so long did express this too.
