You need BOTH Subscribe and Publish in the .ino. I thought it was one or the other.

the above code matches the basic publish/subscribe paradigm, so it is good that you now understand.
So, another/any device could make a webhook request (you can do that on the CLI). But a webhook must be called in order for your device to respond, yes!
