Relay shield v3.1.0 with Photon doesn't work at all

Hi. I just received my particle photon and the relay shield 3 days ago. Particle Photon work like a charm. Now, I put the Particle in on the socket of the relay shield an power it up with a 12V, 2.67A power supply. I load one of the relay example from build.particle.io and flash my Particle and then nothing happen. By nothing I mean I can’t ear any relay clicking at all. I measure the voltage with my multimeter at pin D3, D4, D5 and D6 and can clearly see voltage switching between 0V and 3.3V, but the relay are not activated. This should be a sample task. I already did that kind on project with an Arduino Yun.

Just want some other advices, maybe I overlooked something!

Tanks!

I think I found the problem, but can’t solve it. I think the board header are defect. I made a pretty simple program where the D3 to D6 are always HIGH. When I press on the header (where the arrows point) the relay work. When I release the pressure, they go off!

If it’s indeed a hardware defect, you should contact support who should be able to arrange for a fix.

Agreed! If there’s an issue with the hardware we’d be more than happy to replace it. Head over to support.particle.io and submit a ticket and we’ll be able to help you out.
