As a follow-up to our post on a signal despiking algorithm for Photon sensor data, we wanted to announce our release of the glowfi.sh “signal_extract” endpoint that implements this algorithm for use by the community. Our idea is to add more signal processing functionality over time, so Photon users can process their raw sensor data in real-time via our API without having to write their own firmware to do it. As a simple example of how this works, we posted Photon+Sparkfun weather shield sensor data (temp, light) to glowfi.sh signal_extract endpoint using Particle webhooks. We give a screenshot of the raw and despiked sensor data in the plot below. Our github repo has a Particle webhook code example, and to get glowfi.sh to POST the results to ThingSpeak for visualization see our forum post here.
