For me I don’t see a difference in firmware 0.5.3, 0.6.0 and 0.6.1. All seem to create a very dim RGB LED at about 2.2~2.3VDC on VIN.

@BDub, is 2.2~2.3VDC the range at which the Photon goes bonkers and “wipes” itself then?

Well I wouldn’t say that it does that necessarily, but we do have a minimum voltage spec for the Photon VIN pin of 3.6V. So it’s not advised to operate the Photon down at 2.2V. Just commenting that I don’t see any difference based on firmware version.
