Electron System 3.0.0.rc2 part 3 OTA flash failed - file was too big

Just trying out the new 3.0.0.rc2 on my electron.
OTA flash of parts 1 and 2 works fine, with part 3 I get this error:

particle flash XXXX electron-system-part3@3.0.0-rc.2.bin
Including:
electron-system-part3@3.0.0-rc.2.bin

attempting to flash firmware to your device XXXX
Failed to flash XXXX : Update failed - File was too big!

Any ideas what’s wrong here?

The file size of part 3 is 122,788 bytes.

@ahk, can I ask you to create a support ticket on this and include the device id of the affected device and/or share it with me in direct messages here?

Thanks!

I sent you the requested info.
flashing directly via dfu-util works fine BTW…

Thanks, got the ids of the devices. We’ll look into this and I’ll report back.

Hey @ahk, just wanted to let you know that this should be resolved as of today (March 23, 2021). Your devices will need to perform a full-handshake with the cloud though (complete power cycle should do that).

Yes, this seems to be working. At least after the complete power cycle.
Are there other ways to perform a full-handshake with the cloud? There are some devices at remote locations which cannot be power cycled. On some devices, I am getting these “file too big messages” even on the first part of the firmware.
(Also: is there a way to perform this full handshake via code?)
Thanks
