Can anyone help me recover my Photon?

@ScruffR Any idea as to why the binaries on the Github repository then are the “wrong” ones? Sorry if it is a trivial question, but I have run into this more than once…

:thinking:

I was given this procedure (files and flashing procedure) by support at the time, would have thought there should be no problem. Always opportunity to learn. Thanks @ScruffR

Many Thanks, Friedl.

As long as we’re on a streak…

I have an Argon that’s also acting very badly. Can I run this same procedure on it - using the argon files?

@spork -

haha… yip, should be the same. Just make sure you download the files pertaining to ARGON and not PHOTON. i.e.

While at it… you can search Github, there are newer versions out. Alternatively you can try running Particle: Clean Application (local) from Workbench. It is said to do the same. I have used it, seemed to do the job, but can’t say for sure whether it does the same as manually flashing everything.

Best of luck!

This particular "innovation" is a "remote wife alarm". When the wife's at home she never has her cell phone on (because the battery is super weak and she doesn't want to make it worse by leaving it on charge). So I sometimes can't reach her when I need to. What I made this morning simply allows me to sound a sort of alarm (a piezo beeper) to tell her to call me.

The stuff I'd been doing before with the Electron and Photon was a solar powered, cell connected, wind sensor for hang gliding, paragliding, and kitesurfing. It's a bummer that you can't easily get wind readings right on site because of lack of power or wifi. These sensors have been great for that.

So it looks like my Argon may be in worse shape than the Photon (I don’t know how either of them got so nastified). So I’ll start a separate thread on that. Thanks everyone for your help on this one. This is the one that really mattered.

So we are heading back to the 80's... you made to Pager come back to life, well done!! :relaxed: At least this way we can have good music again, haha.

Oh damn... ok. I will keep a lookout for that thread. Glad the Photon is sorted at least :wink:

Regards,
Friedl.

70's - and I have the porn mustache to prove it.

Yes, it seems astonishingly silly, but with her cell phone off I couldn't think of a better answer. Plus it has the added benefit of shaming her slightly.
