Hello, Is there anyone in Australia that is running the Boron LTE 24/7 and have a stable connection?
…old post - but are you still having issues?
I just replaced a 3G Electron when the 3G service was pulled from the tower on North Stradbroke Island (~40k way).
I have an Enduro Swift 4G camera hanging in a tree that’s working fine but the Boron LTE won’t connect. I also tried a USR-G806 IoT router in the same spot but it won’t connect either.
- Camera bands supported.
The Boron LTE with the Particle SIM will only work in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It’s not recommended for use elsewhere.
It may be possible to use a Telstra SIM in the Boron LTE in Australia however you will need to:
- Configure the Boron LTE to use the external (3rd-party) SIM card
- Probably manually enable the Telstra MVNO profile using AT+UMNOPROF=4
- Probably shorten the keep-alive value
…sorry - should have noted that I use Telstra SIMS on all my kit. M2M One actually but Telstra is the carrier.
My issue is that the camera above and the Boron LTE are about 30 feet apart and the 4G camera is connected but the LTE Boron will not. Same SIM in use in both. The Boron does connect when I move it back out of the site into another location…
This is the tower both devices: https://www.rfnsa.com.au/4183003
The camera I use has 2 antennae while the router I tried and the Boron only have 1. I understand that this is for MIMO, I just find it odd that the camera stays connected (most of the time) but the router and the Boron LTS won’t.
I have another LTE router (2 x antennae) that I’ll try in the same spot next week.
Telstra are decommissioning 3G across Australia and I suspect that any failed 3G kit is not being replaced.
Can I force the Boron to only use Band 3 and Band 28?
