My background:
1980's – worked for IBM and Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) as an Electronic Engineer.
1990's – worked in advertising and design, introducing desktop publishing technologies to traditional and somewhat tech-phobic companies.
1997 to 2015 – worked in software development environments specialising in large web development projects.
For the past ten years, I have used Particle products to build apps for home and one application for a business.
The latter is a machine time monitoring system which enables a business to analyse machine utilisation and shift profiles. For the first time, this business is able to attribute machine time to a given job. And this has enabled accurate job costing.
In other lives I am an Installation Manager for a building products company – some of our work appears on programmes such as Grand Designs.
And just to keep this wild mix alive, I also hold an HGV Class 1 driving licence. Oh, and I build electric bikes and hifi. Most recently, I developed Origin Live's Light Speed Controller.
