I’ve seen the tentacle shield, but I’ve never used it. To me it seems like a convenience thing and not a necessity. If you’re comfortable breadboarding the atlas shields then you shouldn’t need the tentacle shield. One thing that you might want to watch out for if you start using more than one Atlas sensor at a time is signal/power noise/interference.
