Boron Pending Firmware Updates only applied after power off/on

In order to get the cloud to inform your device about pending updates you (currently) need a full hanshake.

How to force a handshake for OTA updates

Hi, I have 50 devices in the field and from time to time I need them to do OTA updates. However, often times I have noticed that it doesn’t work even though on the particle cloud, the device is locked to a new firmware version. Why is this? What I’ve noticed, if I do a hard reset of devices, it handshakes with the cloud. If a handshake occurs, then it will do the OTA update just fine. What if I want one handshake to happen every night at 8pm to basically check and allow for OTA updates. How ca…
