Yeah; I just soldered the battery leads onto the booster so I will give it a few days to see how it holds up.
Any resolution on the best approach here? Booster or added capacitor or more batteries?
After getting poor connections when below 50% charge I added a very large capacitor in parallel with the supplied LiPo 2000 mAh battery. I figured the capacitor could absorb the high draw spikes even when the battery was a little low. Seemed to solve the problem but too many unknowns make it hard to be sure.
Final results of your (@Vitesze and @RWB) experiences would be enlightening.
thanks, john
I only saw slow connection times when the battery voltage was low.
Maybe try a new battery and or solder the battery leads to the Li pins to avoid a loose battery JST connector issue that could cause a low voltage condition.
Using the 2A LiPo, I would typically see a strong drop in connectivity when below 30% or so. Above 30% would usually be fine. If a capacitor works then that works, but could you share some more information about your project? If I was regularly discharging a battery below 50%, I’d consider getting a larger battery.
@Vitesze I just posted a project description at:
