I bought the Photon over a year ago. Is there a security upgrade for the WiFi concerning the security of Internet of Things (IoT)?
What kind of update would that be? And what level of security are you thinking about: device, communication protocol, server? Also, what’s wrong with the security that’s in place?
I was wondering about the automatic WiFi detect. Is using the manual setting more secure for selecting WPA2 AES?
Personally I feel like it’s inherently more secure to do things over a wire than over the air. That said, I’m no expert on the matter, so I could be mistaken. In the three years I’ve been here, I haven’t heard of a security breach occurring while configuring the network credentials though.
