Looks like the IoT part of Broadcom is being sold to Cypress Semi for $550M.

Broadcom makes most of their money from chipsets that go in smartphones, so this $550M is actually not a huge part of their $8B in sales.

I hope this rather gives a boost to the intended (aleged) open-sourcing of the WICED code rather than knocking it back and hopfully the good understanding between Broadcom and Particle will carry over to Cypress.
