When will there be an easy solution of sending “secure” email from the photon?
So far, there are no examples?

Hi @protonandy

By “secure” I think you mean using TLS/SSL encrypted connections, right?

It is certainly on the list for Particle to work on TLS/SSL HTTPS connections, but I not have heard a lot of folks calling for the same for email, but I think it is a good idea.

I know my ISP/Cable Co. recently closed the hole for non-TLS email from _inside_ their network that previously existed for things like scanning printers that can send scans as emails, so those devices require TLS now.

There is a reasonable work-around today with IFTTT which can send email to/from your authorized accounts, particularly if you enable the gmail channel.

So, the answer is no. The Broadcom Photon chip is TSL/SSL capable but the Particle I/O engineering has not
made this possible.

Well the answer is “no” if you want to do SMTP directly from your Photon _today_ but could be yes in the future.

The answer is “yes” if you want to use IFTTT as a proxy to send email for you. Then the entire trip is protected by encryption. I have done this and it works fine.

Having a third party like IFTT is not an easy solution. 😜
