I looked at the Photon’s data sheet and it said 2kv which is way more that what would be required to cause damage to the Photon. I think even 20 volts could severely damage the Photon (even kill it).
110V/230V from an outlet could severely damage the Photon me (even kill me), as well. Yet, being struck by a Tesla Coil, which operates at several hundred thousand volts, doesn’t even make me flinch. It’s not always the volts that tell the whole story, there are other factors involved as well.
That said, try Google-ing around a bit on ESD, and you should find more relevant information.
