Well.. my dayjob brought me to a point that should be familiar to the Particle staff: I abandoned Tachyon for a year.
Now coming back and having high hopes that i can natively use the NPU on an updated Version of some OS i seem to be.. in the same place i left the community a year ago.
Am I right that there is STILL no usable firmware for tachyon? I just gave the community a 20min search and reading and it looks like Kickstarter backers are still victims of a either a scam or a team that bit off way more than they could swallow...
Too far along to drop the Tachyon right now. Luckily this is only a prototype so I can jump to something else for production. For my use, 20.04 was less friction to get inference running, H.264 encoding and GPIO working.
The $700+ that I paid for two units.. guess that's a write off. Tomorrow I demo it and if they like it. Adios Tachyon.
I've toyed with the Rubik Pi 3. Same SoM minus the LTE. I'll add an EC25 and get the same functionality (don't need 5G) with strong Qualcomm support. Same form factor with NVME native. I picked up 3 for $99 each.
