Hi @kanav, unfortunately you will have to purchase either the “North American” variant or the “Rest of World” variant. You can refer to the country compatibility matrix to see which regions are supported.
However, you may be able to add a custom SIM profile to support your needs. That being said, the Tachyon works just as well over WiFi or ethernet, so while traveling, you can connect the device to a hotspot or different available network.
Thanks for the response @ericpietrowicz! I think just WiFi should be enough as well.
Can you elaborate a bit on your comment about custom profile? Do you mean that there is nothing “lockinng” me from using Tachyon with NA cellular in India? I want to understand if there is any chance of Indian cellular SIM working on an NA device.
A NA unit might work in India with a custom SIM, but coverage might be patchy. They have two different modems: SG560D-NA and SG560D-EM. The modems are compatible with different cellular bands. The NA unit might find an overlapping band it can camp on in India, but I won’t make any promises.
