Neato XV hooked to Arduino Micro and USB Host controller sending “Playsound 1” command every 5 sec. There is no computer involved in any way. It is purely running for those two chips in the picture. Meaning after some more coding this will 100% work! Next just go to interface the wifi which wont be a problem. Should have it up and running this weekend. Power consumption will not be an issue 3.3v is the output of the charging wires in side the compartment in the picture above. I will just add an voltage regulator for safety and just power the chips.
Also experimenting with a more robust platform like the MK802 IIIs that has power management already on it to shut the usb ports on and off to simulate the disconnect from neato. This will also allow me to write a nice web interface with a responsive layout and the best part is it fits right next to the fan inside the neato. So that will act as a nice cooling fan.
