Powershell wifi setup via USB

I know softAP is a nice way to go for wifi setup but it doesn’t work on Cores and sometimes it is convenient just to have a quick utility to do it.

Using node.js or Putty works OK for ‘developers’ but not so friendly for others, so I put together a small Powershell script which finds the USB comport, displays device ID and collects wifi details and then does the set up. It just uses simple USB serial commands which work on both Photon and Core.

Obviously only applicable to plugging devices into USB on a Windows platform.

Script is wifiSetup.ps1 and a matching cmd file calls it as Powershell is not enabled by default.

That’s because Cores don’t have SoftAP…

Nice work!
