Since the Photon and Electron will have the same basic pinouts, it would be nice if you offered a “Photon+” that has the same footprint and pinout as the full Electron, but with WiFi only. Basically add any extra pins that you are making available to the Electron to the Photon and give the Photon a bigger footprint.
I am already designing PCB’s that use the Electron footprint but will take a Photon, and ignoring the ‘as of yet unknown’ functionality of the extra Electron pins. But it would sure be nice to design for the Electron with the extra pins and just be able to plop a ‘Photon+’ if Wi-Fi is the choice for the device.
